Available via GET /api/v1/enrich?lat=…&lon=… — water risk scores are returned in the water_stress field of every enrich response, for both EU and non-EU coordinates. Static dataset — no cron job needed. Updated when WRI releases a new Aqueduct version (~every 4–6 years). Scores: 1=Low, 2=Low-Medium, 3=Medium-High, 4=High, 5=Extremely High. Used for ESRS E3-1/E3-3 water risk disclosures.

Available via GET /api/v1/enrich?lat=…&lon=…[&year=YYYY] — Natura 2000 data is returned in the natura_2000 field for EU coordinates only. Reports whether the coordinate falls inside any protected area (SPA or SAC/SCI), the distance in km to the nearest site boundary, and — with the optional ?year= parameter — the state of the Natura 2000 network at any point from 2004 to 2024. Also returns the site designation years (year_spa, year_sac) from the N2K Backbone. Coverage: ~11.4% of EU land area (2024). Used for ESRS E4-2 §30 / E4-5 §40 biodiversity impact disclosures.

CSRD ESRS E1 (Scope 1–3) & ESRS E2 (air quality): Surface fluxes represent the net exchange between the atmosphere and the land/ocean surface — including biogenic uptake, fossil-fuel emissions, and agricultural sources. Three gases required for full GHG accounting: CO₂ (energy/land), CH₄ (agriculture/waste), N₂O (agriculture/soil). Updated monthly from the ECMWF ADS.

Sparse tiles: Only months and 5°×5° tiles with detected fire events are stored. Querying a fire-free area returns no rows — not an error. Burned area fraction > 0 indicates at least one 500 m MODIS pixel classified as burned in that calendar month.

Socioeconomic Context Data (Eurostat)

Every call to GET /api/v1/enrich automatically returns regional socioeconomic indicators alongside the NUTS3 lookup — at no extra cost. Data from Eurostat (CC BY 4.0), refreshed annually.

💰
GDP per capita (PPS)
Eurostat nama_10r_3gdp

Purchasing-power-adjusted GDP per inhabitant at NUTS3. Enables income-level weighting in exposure analyses. Coverage: 2013–2022, most EU countries.

NUTS3 ✓ NUTS2 fallback some countries
👥
Population density
Eurostat demo_r_d3dens

Inhabitants per km² at NUTS3. Essential for converting air quality concentrations into population exposure estimates. Coverage: 2013–2023, most EU countries.

NUTS3 ✓
🫁
Respiratory mortality
Eurostat hlth_cd_aro

Absolute respiratory disease deaths (ICD-10 chapter J) at NUTS3. Enables epidemiological correlation with air quality data. Coverage varies — only countries that report at NUTS3.

Sparse — few countries report NUTS3
Coverage note: Socioeconomic indicators return null when Eurostat does not publish data at NUTS3 level for a specific country. All data is CC BY 4.0 — free for commercial use with attribution.

Global Economic Indicators (World Bank)

Country-level macroeconomic indicators available as a join source in POST /api/v1/link. Data from the World Bank Open Data (CC BY 4.0 — commercial use permitted), refreshed annually. Coverage: 2000–2024, ~200 countries globally.

💰
GDP (total)
wb_gdp_usd · NY.GDP.MKTP.CD

Gross domestic product in current USD. Baseline economic size indicator.

🧑‍💼
GDP per capita
wb_gdp_per_capita · NY.GDP.PCAP.CD

GDP divided by population, current USD. Controls for country size in exposure studies.

📈
GDP growth
wb_gdp_growth · NY.GDP.MKTP.KD.ZG

Annual GDP growth %. Correlates with industrial activity and emission trends.

🛒
Inflation (CPI)
wb_inflation_cpi · FP.CPI.TOTL.ZG

Consumer price inflation annual %. Useful context for economic-health studies.

🌿
CO₂ per capita
wb_co2_per_capita · EN.ATM.CO2E.PC

CO₂ emissions per capita (metric tons). Pairs naturally with CAMS air quality data.

👥
Population
wb_population · SP.POP.TOTL

Total population per country. Essential for population-weighted exposure calculations.

🚢
Exports (% GDP)
wb_exports_pct · NE.EXP.GNFS.ZS

Exports of goods & services as % of GDP. Trade openness proxy for industrial emissions.

🏙️
Urban population %
wb_urban_pct · SP.URB.TOTL.IN.ZS

Urban population as % of total. Key covariate for urban heat island and pollution exposure.
